THE HUB (Elementary)
Sunday mornings are very exciting in Encounter Kids. Our main objective is connecting with parents and training kids to “Love God and Love People”. Sundays are all about sharing the love of Christ with kids and having fun.
Sunday morning elementary kids meet in what we call The Hub. Check in for first service begins at 9:15am and second service at 10:45am. When the kids arrive they check into a secure area where they have time to connect and are able to build relationships. The kids will have a blast playing on the inflatables, beating their friend in a friendly game of “hoops,” or challenging them to the latest video game. At 9:40am for first service and 11:10am for the second service we kick off the best experience in Tulsa! Each service has high-energy worship, crazy characters, awesome illustrations and illusions, wacky games, interactive Bible lessons, and time to respond to what God is saying.
We start the service with a high-energy worship song followed by the kids breaking into small groups by grade. In the small group the kids will meet and get to know their small group leader who will connect with them throughout the service. After a quick video the Co-hosts for The Hub intro what the lesson will be for the day, which includes a visit from Mr. Big. Mr. Big always tell us the Big Idea for the day. Next the worship team is back for a few more high-energy worship songs that really get the blood pumping. After worship one of our Storytellers shares Gods word with the kids and shows them how the kids can put God’s word into action. At the end of the lesson the Storyteller will invite the kids to let God speak to their heart and ask if they would like to spend time at the altar. The altar time is also when we slow down worship and bring the team back out to lead the kids in a slower song. After the kids have had time to listen to God we go over the Key Verse for the month in a new and innovative way to help the kids remember the scripture. We then finish off with a huge, usually messy, Wacky Game. Our co-hosts come back to wrap up the lesson and dismiss the kids to hang out with their friends and leaders on the inflatable, videos games, and basketball hoop.
When service is over the kids will have more time to hang out and connect with others while they are waiting for their parents and guardians to pick them up. The Hub is the place to connect.
